RECREATION SOCCER FAQ:

Q. What are the different age groups for soccer?

A. There are 4 divisions for grades K-1, pee wee level grades K-3rd, junior level grades 4-5th, and senior level grades 6-8th.

Q. When are the games usually played?

A. The games are always played on Saturdays.

Q. When do they have practice?

A. Practices can be any day during the week besides Saturday depending on the coach’s availability.  Usually teams will have practice once or twice during the week. 

Q.  How do I become a volunteer coach?

A. The procedure on becoming a volunteer coach is on our Recreation website on the coach’s page when you go to www.secaucusrecreation.org

Q. Are there travel teams for soccer?

A. Yes, we have travel teams for both boys and girls in grades 2-8th. They play in the Northern Counties Soccer League. Players must attend tryouts for these teams. Not everyone makes the team and cuts do happen.

Q. Are uniforms provided for players or are they for purchase?

A. For our instructional and recreation levels, a t-shirt is provided for the players which is included in the registration fee when you sign-up. If your child does try out and make one of the travel teams, you are responsible for the cost of those uniforms.

Q. How long is the season?

A. Roughly runs in the Fall, September- November and in the Spring, April-June for grades K-3 only.
